The CSP updates the Holding Balance of the Accounts (HINs) that are targeted during Batch Settlement.

Settlement Movement Confirmation notification is generated and sent to the Settlement Participant to advise of the net holding movement that was made by the CSP as a result of Batch Settlement.

A notification will be sent for each Account (HIN), Security Code and Basis of Movement combination that has a holding movement in the pertinent Batch Settlement cycle.

Where a Novated Net Delivery Position (NNDP) was rescheduled due to the related Novated Gross Market Trades (NGMTs) having a security sub-register status of Suspended or Closed, a notification will also be sent for the zero net holding movement.

Following the movement of units, the CSP will use the CDE 10 - Settlement Notifications and Completion Process to notify Settlement Participants of Settlement Instructions that partially settle and to complete the Batch Settlement cycle.

Settlement Movement Confirmation

A Settlement Movement Confirmation notification is generated and sent to the Settlement Participant to advise of the net holding movement that was made by the CSP as a result of Batch Settlement. The notification will also provide the Settlement Funds Amount and count of Settlement Instructions contributing to the net holding movement, as well as a breakdown of these Settlement Instructions which includes the Settled Unit Quantity and Settlement Funds Amount that pertains to each Settlement Instruction type.

New Holding BalanceBalance For Account / Aggregate Balance / Quantity / Quantity / Quantity

Indicates the total Holding Balance of the security within an Account (HIN) after the net holding movement of units for the security within an Account (HIN).

Net Settlement Movement Attributes Repeating Block

The following attributes will be repeated under Balance for Account / Net Settlement Movement Attributes <BalForAcct/NetSttlmMvmntAttrbts> block to provide the breakdown of the following attributes for the net holding movement and each type of Settlement Instruction that contributes to the net holding movement (as defined by the Movement Type populated):

  • Settled Unit Quantity;
  • Settlement Amount; and
  • Number of Settlement Obligations (Settlement Instructions).
Movement TypeMovement Type

Indicates what the breakdown of Settled Unit Quantity, Settlement Amount, and Number of Settlement Instructions applies to, either 

  • Overall Net Movement (NETT), for the net holding movement breakdown; or
  • a Settlement Instruction type of:
    • Novated Gross Market Trade (NGMT), for the NGMT component of the net holding movement;
    • Novated Settlement Failure Instruction (NSFI), for the NSF component of the net holding movement;
    • Novated Rescheduled Instruction (NRIN), for the NRI component of the net holding movement;
    • Non-Novated Gross market Trade (NNGM), for the NNGM component of the net holding movement;
    • Unilateral Settlement Instruction (USSI), for the USSI component of the net holding movement; or
    • Bilateral Settlement Instruction (BSSI), for the BSSI component of the net holding movement.

The NRIN, NNGM, USSI and BSSI breakdowns are inclusive of:

  • fully settled Settlement Instructions; and
  • the settled component of partially settled Settlement Instructions.

The NRI breakdown is also inclusive of the SSP component that settles for fully or partially failed NRIs.

Basis of Movement 1, 2 and 3Trade Transaction Condition

Where applicable, and the Movement Type is Overall Net Movement (NETT), indicates the Basis of Movement related to the Settlement Movement. In this case, one of the valid values outlined in the /wiki/spaces/CSP/pages/23233246 (16 - BasisofMovement) will be present.

Settled Unit QuantityUnit Quantity

Indicates the net number of units settled during the current Batch Settlement cycle.

Where the Movement Type is Overall Net Movement (NETT), the Settled Unit Quantity will be the net total number of units settled within the current Batch Settlement cycle.

Where the Movement Type is not Overall Net Movement (NETT), the Settlement Unit Quantity will be the total number of units settled for the Movement Type within the current Batch Settlement cycle.

Short Long IndicatorShort Long Indicator

Populated with Long ('LONG') when the Settled Unit Quantity (for the Movement Type) within the current Batch Settlement cycle is a net receipt or the units settled in the current settlement cycle is zero.

Populated with Short ('SHOR') when the Settled Unit Quantity (for the Movement Type) within the current Batch Settlement cycle is a net delivery movement.

Settlement AmountAmount

Indicates the total Settlement Amount pertaining to the Settlement Instructions that contribute to the net holding movement.

Where the Movement Type is Overall Net Movement (NETT), the Settlement Amount will be the total Settlement Amount pertaining to all Settlement Instructions that contribute to the net holding movement.

Where the Movement Type is not Overall Net Movement (NETT), the Settlement Amount will be the total Settlement Amount settled for the Movement Type within the current Batch Settlement cycle.

The Settlement Amount includes any SSP adjustments which have been calculated and settled in the current Batch Settlement cycle.

Settlement Amount Credit Debit IndicatorAmount / Credit Debit Indicator

Indicates whether the Settlement Funds Amount is a net receipt, net payment, either:

  • Credit (CRDT), where the Settlement Funds Amount is a net receipt to the Participant or zero; or
  • Debit (DBIT), where the Settlement Funds Amount is a net payment by the Participant.
Number of Settlement ObligationsNumber of Entries

Where the Movement Type is Overall Net Movement (NETT), indicates the total number of Settlement Instructions contributing to the net holding movement.

Where the Movement Type is not Overall Net Movement (NETT), indicates the number of Settlement Instructions settled for the Movement Type within the current Batch Settlement cycle.

The Number of Settlement Obligations will include all fully settled and partially settled Settlement Instructions, and the SSP component settling (including where it is zero) of fully failed NRIs.
