Settlement Instruction Suspension

During the Batch Settlement process, the CSP will perform validations of the /wiki/spaces/CSP/pages/86376579 of all securities for which there are scheduled Bilateral Scheduled Settlement Instructions (BSSIs), Unilateral Scheduled Settlement Instructions (USSIs), Novated Rescheduled Instructions (NRIs) and/or Non-Novated Gross Market Trades (NNGMTs). Where the Sub-register status is Closed, the status of the BSSIs, USSIs, NRIs and/or NNGMTs will be modified from Scheduled to Suspended during the CDE 10 -Settlement Instruction Suspension Process.

Outside of Batch Settlement, certain types of Settlement Instructions may be Suspended on request by ASX Clear for default management purposes. 

Suspended Settlement Instruction Cancellation

Where the status of the Settlement Instruction is Suspended, the Participant is required to cancel all Settlement Instruction of type /wiki/spaces/CSP/pages/23232963 and /wiki/spaces/CSP/pages/23233739 through a Settlement Instruction Cancellation Request.

Participants may cancel an NNGMT through the CDE 10 - Market Settlement Instruction Cancellation Process. NRIs which were created as the result of an Isolate Counterparty Request may also be cancelled in this way.

Participants are not able to use the Settlement Instruction Cancellation process to request a cancellation where the status of that Settlement Instruction is Suspended for the following Settlement Instruction types:

• a Novated Gross market Trade (NGMT); or
• an NRI.

ASX Operations will manage the cancellation of NGMTs and NRIs (excluding Isolated NRIs generated through the /wiki/spaces/CSP/pages/316474110) with a status of Suspended.

For Settlement Instructions that have a status of Suspended and have not been cancelled by a Participant, the CSP will cancel the Settlement Instruction via the CDE 10 - Suspended Settlement Instruction Cancellation Process.
