DAML SDK Overview

A key element of CSP is the use of the DA Platform and Digital Asset Modelling Language (DAML).

DAML maps rights and obligations across all ASX participants and tracks changes over time using the ledger. Additionally, DAML guarantees all participants are synchronised and protects the privacy and confidentiality of entitled information.

All ledger modifications happen via DAML commands. Participants update the ledger by submitting a valid DAML command. The business rules encoded in DAML dictate the conditions where contract instances are created or archived.

DAML Libraries

  • ASX DAML contracts will be grouped into DAML Libraries (or modules), similar to a .jar file in Java
  • DAML Libraries represent the application rules (i.e. ASX market rules)
  • Command structures and events are defined by the DAML Libraries being used
  • Node users will be provided with the CHESS Replacement DAML Library and SDK (Software Development Kit)

The Digital Asset Modelling Language Software Development Kit (DAML SDK) is an integrated suite of tools designed to accelerate the development of DAML applications for the DA Platform.

DAML Studio provides real-time feedback to support efficient development of correct smart contracts.

Integrated scenario testing allows developers to see the impact of the agreement on the ledger immediately.

The DAML SDK includes a dynamic front-end that automatically generates simple GUIs for DAML models.

The DAML SDK can be accessed by visiting the DAML homepage.
