Advanced messaging queuing protocol (AMQP), originally developed by JP Morgan, is an application layer, ‘wire-level’ protocol used to send messages between applications providing a similar model to CHESS's current state of messaging over ASXNet. It is not a product or broker architecture, rather it is a specification that is not bound to a specific source or target topology.
