Reconstruction Timeline

The following timeline provides an overview of the key events for a Reconstruction and approximate times after announcement that these events occur. A more detailed process flow and associated requirements are provided in subsequent sections.

Reconstruction Process

The following steps describe the above process flow.

Announcement of Event

Announcement Date of the event to the market. 

Record Date

Last day to register shares on a Pre-Reconstruction basis

Prior to Reconstruction the last settlement cycle is run. At end of day, processing of existing security transactions will cease until the First Settlement Date / Deferred Settlement Date. First Settlement Date / Deferred Settlement Date, and the CSP will suspend the sub-register.

Reconstruct Unsettled Transactions

Unsettled transactions will have the Reconstruction ratio applied. For these transactions, the Security Code will be changed to a deferred code and the Settlement Date is rescheduled to the Deferred Settlement Date. The CSP notifies Participants of the amended unsettled transactions and the Participant will independently verify the calculation. For further information refer to /wiki/spaces/CSP/pages/245730632.

Effective Date (Record Date + 1) (Parent Adjustment Date)

Transactions received after the Record Date will be scheduled to settle on the First Settlement Date on a Post-Reconstruction basis.

Calculation of Reconstructed Holdings

The Issuer (Registry) requests holding balances from the CSP to facilitate calculation of the reconstructed holdings.

Issue Date

Reconstruct Securities

On or before the issue date, the Issuer (Registry) adjusts the reconstructed securities and transmits details of the adjustments to the CSP. For further information, refer to /wiki/spaces/CSP/pages/112427568.

Adjustment Date (Issue Date + 1)

Code Change Diary Adjustment

A Code Change Diary Adjustment (CCDA) will be applied to change the deferred code to the reconstructed Security Code. For further information, refer to /wiki/spaces/CSP/pages/245730632.

Open Sub-register

First Settlement Date / Deferred Settlement Date (Issue Date + 3)

On the First Settlement Date, all transactions whether deferred or new will settle in the Batch Settlement process. For further information, refer to /wiki/spaces/CSP/pages/86836695.
