Settlement Instruction Rescheduling

Settlement Instructions may be rescheduled in different scenarios, some of which are detailed in the table below.

Locked Delivering Account (HIN)

During Batch Settlement, Settlement Instructions will be rescheduled where the Delivering Account (HIN) has a status of locked with a reason of:

  1. non-specific; or
  2. subject to court order; or
  3. action by ASX Operations.
The CSP will reschedule the Settlement Instruction from the current business date to the next business date.
Cancellation of Batch Settlement

When Batch Settlement is cancelled, all Settlement Instructions (excluding NGMTs) will be rescheduled. Settlement Instructions that are Suspended will not be rescheduled.

For Novated Gross Market Trades (NGMTs), the CSP will calculate the applicable Novated Net Delivery Positions (NNDPs). The CSP will then create an NSF to replace each NNDP for the current Batch Settlement cycle, and an NRI to reschedule each NNDP for settlement to the next business date.

The CSP will reschedule the Settlement Instruction (excluding NGMTs) from the current business date to the next business date.

For NGMTs, the CSP will reschedule the applicable NNDPs through the creation of an NSF to replace each NNDP for the current settlement cycle and an NRI to reschedule each NNDP for settlement to the next business date.

Suspended Sub-register

During Batch Settlement, Settlement Instructions (excluding NGMTs) with a security having a /wiki/spaces/CSP/pages/86376579 of Suspended will be rescheduled.

For NGMTs, the CSP will calculate the applicable NNDPs. The CSP will then create an NSF to replace each NNDP for the current Batch Settlement cycle, and an NRI to reschedule each NNDP for settlement to the next business date.

The CSP will reschedule the Settlement Instruction (excluding NGMTs) from the current business date to the next business date.

For NGMTs, the CSP will reschedule the applicable NNDPs through the creation of an NSF to replace each NNDP for the current settlement cycle and an NRI to reschedule each NNDP for settlement to the next business date.

Closed Sub-register

During Batch Settlement, for NGMTs with a security having a /wiki/spaces/CSP/pages/86376579 of Closed, the CSP will calculate the applicable NNDPs. The CSP will then create an NSF to replace each NNDP for the current Batch Settlement cycle, and an NRI to reschedule each NNDP for settlement to the next business date.

The CSP will reschedule the NNDPs through the creation of an NSF to replace each NNDP for the current settlement cycle and an NRI to reschedule each NNDP for settlement to the next business date.

Reconstruction

(Suspended Sub-register)

Overnight on the Record Date of a Reconstruction, all scheduled Settlement Instructions of the following types will be rescheduled:

  • Unilateral Settlement Instructions (USSIs);
  • Bilateral Settlement Instructions (BSSIs);
  • Gross Market Trades (GMTs) i.e. Cash CCP Transactions or Cash Market Transactions.

Settlement Instructions which are scheduled and have a Settlement Date after Issue Date plus 3 business days will not be rescheduled.

The Settlement Date will be rescheduled to the Issue Date plus 3 business days.
Change in Issue Date for a Reconstruction

Where the Issue Date is modified to a date that is after the current known Issue Date for a Reconstruction, all active Settlement Instructions will be rescheduled to the new calculated settlement date for the following types:

  • USSIs;
  • BSSIs;
  • GMTs i.e. Cash CCP Transactions or Cash Market Transactions.

Rescheduling will only occur where:

  • New Settlement Date > Old Settlement Date.
The Settlement Date will be rescheduled to the new Issue Date plus 3 business days.
Changes to the First Settlement Date

Where there is a change to the First Settlement Date of a security, the CSP will modify the First Settlement Date of the resultant Security. This will trigger all active Settlement Instructions to be rescheduled to the new First Settlement Date for the following Instruction types:

  • USSIs;
  • BSSIs;
  • GMTs i.e. Cash CCP Transactions or Cash Market Transactions.

A change in the Settlement Date will only occur where:

  • Existing Settlement Date < New First Settlement Date.

The CSP will reschedule the Settlement Instruction to the new First Settlement Date.

ASX Clear RequestOutside of Batch Settlement, certain types of Settlement Instructions may be rescheduled on request by ASX Clear for default management purposes. This action may be taken individually or in bulk and will include a reason “Action by ASX Clear”.The CSP will reschedule selected Settlement Instructions from the current business date to a future business date.


Settlement Instruction Rescheduling Notifications

When a Settlement Instruction has been rescheduled during the CDE 10 - Settlement Instruction Rescheduling Process, a Rescheduled Settlement Notification will be generated and sent to the Participant to advise of the change in Settlement Instruction details and the reason for the change.
